A Sample Profile
How to decipher Durbar Dua profile cards

As promised, we will be changing your profiles to make it look simple, sleek, and attractive. As of this year, we will be deleting your age, dikir experience (ex-groups), your occupation, and a large chunk of your history (sejarah ringkas). Instead, we will replace them with your nicknames on top and real names in itallics.

The icons you see below the profile pic represents which department you currently reside in. If you are say, a 'juara', be it for show or competition, it will be reflected with the appropriate icon shown above. They are as such:

  • Tok Juara - depicted with a microphone icon.
  • Tukang Karut - depicted with a 'wau bulan' icon.
  • Paluan - depicted with a 'buah rumba' (maracas) icon.
  • Awok-awok - depicted with the 'hands' icon.
  • Penulis - depicted with a pen icon.

The descriptions are divided into three paragraphs. The first one indicates a simple word or phrase to describe you, in this case, Bobby is 'cool'. The second paragrah is a short sentence describing your special powers. The third paragrah indicates your short but accurate written profile.

The tanjak icon at the bottom right indicates your experience. A bronze tanjak (not shown) indicates that you have been a regular for 1 year. A silver tanjak (shown), shows your 5 year long service award, and a purple tanjak (our tanjak, not shown), shows that you have been a veteran of ten years and above. Leaders will be given medals instead of the tanjak icon, because they put in more time and effort in organising us as a group, from training to creating sets. I still have yet to find stylised photos for the medals so, your input is very much welcomed. As of today, we only got two leaders, Naz and Rezal respectively.

This initiative is just experimental, and a step towards creating a fun experience while surfing through our profiles. Hence, it shouldn't be taken seriously. Your feedback is greatly welcomed. Help Team DNN suggest items to put into the cards to make it more interesting and engaging to the online audience. Profiles will be converted in alphabetical order, so we urge patience. I can only work on a few profiles per day, so it will consume some time. Happy surfing! - DurbarNews
